The Pop-up Skatepark is a free service for Ramona teens, but we have expenses. It costs between $6,000 and $10,000 per 10-week session for payroll, equipment maintenance, insurance, and team expenses. The more money we raise, the more teens we we can hire to give them job experience and the more kids can participate in the competitions and the better the equipment we can offer them. None of our board of directors is compensated and all monies raised for the program go to the program.
We value participation over profit. We don’t charge fees to kids or families. This is why we are a 501c3 non-profit charity. The program is sustained by donations and grants.
The Ramona Kiwanis sponsored the helmets and pads used as loaners at the Pop up Skatepark operated by Ramona Skatepark Champions and continues support annually.
